These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website located at agourahillsacademy.org and related pages (collectively, the “Site”) operated by Agoura Hills Academy (“AHA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an independent college-preparatory online high school based in Agoura Hills, California.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. About the Site
The Site provides general information about AHA, including our programs, UC/CSU-approved coursework, admissions process, and contact options. Content on the Site is for informational purposes and does not constitute a contract, guarantee of admission, or offer of enrollment until you enter into a separate written enrollment agreement with AHA.
2. Eligibility and accounts
The Site is intended for prospective students, parents, guardians, and other adults seeking information about AHA. If you are under 18, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. You agree to provide accurate information when submitting forms and to update information when requested.
3. Admissions and forms
Our Admissions page offers three ways to begin: a quick inquiry (short multi-step form), a full online registration application (mirroring our printable enrollment packet, pages 1–6), and a downloadable PDF application you may complete and email to us. These tools help families share information with AHA; they are not a substitute for a signed enrollment agreement unless and until AHA confirms enrollment in writing.
Submitting any form or application does not guarantee acceptance, placement in specific courses, or creation of a student account. Course requests—online or on paper—are subject to review, prerequisites, capacity, and school approval. An AHA advisor may contact you to discuss next steps, which may include transcripts, fees, contracts, or additional documentation.
By submitting information through the Site (including typed signatures on the full online application), you represent that you have the right to provide that information, that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you consent to our use of it as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, servers, or networks connected to the Site;
- Interfere with the operation or security of the Site, including through viruses, scraping, or automated means not expressly permitted by us;
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate AHA staff, students, or other users;
- Copy, reproduce, or exploit Site content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
5. Intellectual property
The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, images, layout, and design — are owned by AHA or our licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use related to evaluating AHA. You may not modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
“Agoura Hills Academy” and related marks are the property of AHA. Third-party names and logos appearing on the Site belong to their respective owners.
6. Educational content and accuracy
We strive to keep information on the Site current regarding courses, programs, and policies. Course offerings, schedules, and requirements may change. The Site may contain typographical errors or outdated material. AHA reserves the right to correct errors and update content at any time without notice.
References to university pathways, partnerships, or outcomes describe general opportunities and do not guarantee admission to any particular college or university.
7. Third-party links and services
The Site may link to third-party websites or use third-party services (such as form processing or hosting). Those resources are not under our control. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AHA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AHA AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO AHA FOR SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AHA and its personnel from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that exclusive jurisdiction for disputes relating to the Site resides in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at zhu@agourahillsacademy.org to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
12. Modifications
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on the Site with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AHA regarding use of the Site.
